Laura Olson and Marcelina Paulinska met at Chelsea College of Arts. After working individually at a number of companies, they came to the decision that they no longer wanted to contribute to the abundance of excessive waste produced by the textile, fashion and product design industries. Instead they turned their focus to sustainable design and together founded Project LMNOP. The studio seeks to challenge the properties of materials and has a distinct focus on the reusing of resources, as well as designing with purpose and intention.

The Indigo Pot is created by mixing natural dyes and pigments – namely marwood extract and organic indigo powder – in polymer plaster. The original design for the pot was in fact an accident. “Whenever I cast pots,” says Laura, “ I always make a leftover piece. It just happened that indigo and marwood look fab together.” Each piece is cast, shaped using a dremel, sanded and polished.
